About PAS

Premier American School is an independent co-educational day school in Lahore, Pakistan. It offers a well-balanced international curriculum, which recognizes the value of and integrates the Pakistani national curriculum. PAS has a highly qualified and experienced faculty. The purpose-built campus spreads over six acres; with a capacity of almost one thousand students. The campus is fully equipped with necessary resources learning resources.

PAS carries the privilege to enjoy partnerships with international educational institutions, along with faculty training sessions and student placement in various high ranked, well-reputed Universities in Pakistan and across the world. It is affiliated with Cambridge Assessment and International Education (CAIE), Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Lahore, and membership with Advance Ed is in process.

PAS strongly believes in developing lifelong learning skills amongst its students and provides numerous opportunities for students to enroll themselves in after school clubs and societies, community outreach programs, career counseling & guidance programs. The diverse and inclusive environment at PAS enables the students to develop and excel in mental, physical, social & moral endeavors and make them collaborate successfully with people from various backgrounds and nationalities.

Curriculum

PAS offers a well-balanced international curriculum that recognizes the value of and integrates, the national curriculum. The curriculum is flexible, challenging and inspiring, culturally sensitive yet international in approach. PAS students develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning. It is divided into four stages; Early Years, Elementary Years, Middle Years and Senior School. Each stage builds on the learners’ development from the previous one, but can also be offered separately. Similarly, each syllabus adopts a ‘spiral’ approach, building on previous learning to help advance student's study.

The core aim of the curriculum is to value deep subject knowledge as well as the conceptual understanding that helps students make links between different aspects of a subject. It also encourages students to improve their higher-order thinking, problem-solving &, critical thinking skills. It develops them as independent researchers, willing collaborators, and impressive presenters. We believe that these skills are transferable, last long and are extremely beneficial for our students’ future lives.

The PAS Curriculum includes instructions in; literature, Language development in Urdu & English, Mathematics, History, Geography, ICT, Science, Islamiat, Social Studies, Art, Music, Library, Physical Education, Leadership & Character Building, Dramatics, and Community Outreach programs.

Faculty

Teachers make a difference. The success of any plan for improving educational outcomes depends on the teachers who carry it out and thus on the abilities of those attracted to the field and their preparation. The PAS Faculty currently has an active and energetic team of near 40 full-time faculty members with diverse educational backgrounds and academic experiences

PAS has highly qualified, skilled and experienced faculty members. The majority of the faculty members hold a Master’s Degree and are experienced. PAS maintains a high level of accountability from its faculty to ensure that the students receive the highest quality of service to their educational needs.

Regular training in the latest methodology is carried out to ensure that the faculty is up to date on the modern trends in education and has access to the latest teaching techniques & methodologies like classroom management skills, lesson planning, questioning techniques, and activity-based teaching & learning, etc.

Our Mission is to create a stimulating learning environment in which our academic programs inspire, challenge, and nurture our students, their families, and our faculty. Our aim is to develop good citizens who contribute to the betterment of our School, and society at large.

Philosophy

At PAS, an emphasis is placed on creative thinking and problem-solving. Integral to the PAS program is an instruction in methods of organizing work, studying for tests, and preparing and presenting projects. Teachers help students understand and learn from their mistakes. By requiring students to correct their work, teachers encourage accountability, pride in work, and a sense of accomplishment.

The tasks that each PAS student accomplishes engender a greater sense of self-confidence and poise. Character development and principles of good citizenship are stressed at all ages. Students are encouraged to learn to respect others and are provided guidance in understanding how to be more effective in their lives.
